About me

GREETINGS READERS!

Welcome! I'm so glad you found your way to my site!

My name is Anne Miranda. I live in Spain. I'm the mother of two grown sons and I write books and educational materials for young children from preschool to third grade. For the last two years, my son Tyler and I have been making read-aloud versions of books for YouTube and have produced a few books that can be found on KDP/Amazon. Tyler is a graphic designer and illustrator and produces all our videos.

I began my writing career when I was in college.  My first job was as a staff writer for the Boston Educational Research Company, where my mother was editorial director. Many of my stories were included in The Superkids reading program authored by Pleasant Rowland, of American Girl Doll fame.

I´ve been freelancing happily ever after on many other educational programs and have published 16 trade books. Night Songs, which I also illustrated, was entered into the Society of Illustrator's Show in 1993 and was named Bank Street College Children's Book of the Year. To Market, To Market, illustrated by Janet Stephens, was an Abby Honor Book, ALA Notable Children's Book, Golden Kite Honor Book for Illustrations, and a Flicker Tale Nominee (ND) in 1999.  Beep! Beep! illustrated by David Murphy, was awarded the Parents’ Choice Foundation’s highest award, a 1999 Parents’ Choice Gold Award. I also had the great privilege of collaborating with Caldecott Award Winner, Ed Emberley, who lived a few towns over from me in Massachusetts.  Our book, Glad Monster Sad Monster, was recently been redesigned and translated into Spanish and French. TANGLED, illustrated by Eric Comstock and published by Simon&Schuster, is my latest trade book.

I am currently working on lots of fun stories with Tyler and I hope some will find a way into your home soon.
